These are the best things ever. I've ordered the larger pack know cause they work so good. I use the heat gun with low and high power, I focus it on high heat directly at the center metal and once it melts I start moving the head gun back and forth over the edges to get the rest of the shear shrink wrapped up. I love it cause I can do 2 wires at the same time. I will be keeping these things in stock!
This solder sleeve works exactly how it is described and kills two birds with one stone of soldering wire as well as sealing the connection. It is a huge timesaver and a necessity for those that don't know how to solder properly.
I wasn’t really sure about these but decided to try them anyways. I tried a dipping some of the wires in flux and doing some without. It works fine either way and I wasn’t able to rip the splice apart after.
I love the idea of these little guys. I used them to rewrite the 4-way harness on my trailer. Having the wires soldered together was ideal and the waterproof glue was genius. I’m very happy with them. After the install I covered over 4 wires with a single black shrink wrap.
This is a great set of heat shrink with solder connectors. I have already used half of the red band ones with great success. Not a single failure, except for a burnt finger ; - )
Works like a champ. The solder melted with the little bit of time on the heat gun and made a great connection
These are great for wiring things together 10 out of 10 would buy again.
This is my first time trying this type of connector, and I am pretty impressed. They work exactly as advertised. Slightly more tricky to use than a crimp type marine grade connector, because you need to hold both wires and the heat gun at the same time, and hold it together while the solder cools, but should offer superior electricity transfer due to the soldered connection. There isn’t much sealer in the shrink tube (I’m sure so it doesn’t interfere with the solder joint) so I am curious to see long term water resistance. As long as these aren’t used in a high heat area (like possibly near an exhaust manifold, etc.) that could re-melt the low temp solder and possibly make the connection come apart, these seem like awesome, slim fit (not bulky) electrical connectors.
Wish I would have found these long ago, save time soldering and crimping.
I really like these, and wish I had known about them earlier. I installed a new stereo in my car, and this made the job immensely easier.
Works great, locks in good as you heat it up. The solder ring in the middle does actually melt and settle into the wire strands as you concentrate the heat on the ring and then work heat outwards on each end till the whole sleeve is set. Can't judge on durability as of now but it's promising. I'll buy more since I'm tired of crimping and risking piercing thru regular heat shrink crimp connectors.
